Leap Day only comes once every four years…so take a minute to make it a little different. Here are a few ideas of activities to do with your kids…
- Make origami jumping frogs. Link to printable instructions for an origami jumping frog (from origami-fun.com)
- Make “Leap Day” cupcakes. Use a white cake mix and blue frosting. Glue a clip art frog to a toothpick and placed it in the cupcake. Simple. Here is a link to printable black and white frogs and a link to printable colored frogs. I got the clip art from pixabay.com.
- Play a game of Leap Frog with your family. You get in a line facing the same direction, leave a space in between each person and squat down like a frog. Then the last person in line jumps over each person ahead of him/her. He/she lands at the front and squats down. The new “last” person repeats the process.
Spending time with your family will be the most important thing you do today!
If you ‘d like to make homemade frosting, here is a link to the frosting I always use just omit the cocoa…Zu-Cake
