Goals that Bring Peace

January 1, 2015 By: Amycomment

3 goals that bring peace

Here are three goals that, when kept, will bring peace to your life.

  • I will pray to start my day: Reaching out to our Heavenly Father—thanking Him for blessings and asking for help will bring a peace you’ll never find anywhere else. Try speaking the words, “Who should I reach out to today?” Heavenly Father will prompt you to smile at someone in the grocery store or prompt you to call a friend or family member or help you see the needs of a child. You will be lead as you apply yourself. You will get to be a part of the Lord’s tender mercies. (Not very long ago I was frantically getting ready for the Christmas Break. I stopped, took a deep breath, and prayed before I headed off to the grocery store. My time was short before the kids got home from school, on the baking isle I saw an elderly lady picking up each of the bags of various types of chocolate chips and looking at the package with a magnifying glass. My heart went out to her and I decided that I could always come back to the store later. I asked her what she was looking for. She gratefully let me help and we found the best deals on the things she needed. My day was made wonderful from that encounter. She could have figured it out without me…but I needed her to help me stop and realize the blessings of the day. I believe the Lord let me be at the right place at the right time, because I asked.)
  • I will read and ponder scripture each day: An added measure of wisdom comes into the life of someone who studies the Lord’s words. He has helped His children in the past and He will help you.
  • I will record my thoughts and/or blessings each day: Writing things down shows Heavenly Father that you notice His blessings. The other thing that comes when you write down your concerns and troubles is a chance to step back and look at life. You can ask yourself what you can learn from your trials…somehow writing them down makes them not seem so hard.

If those three goals are achieved, everything else that needs to happen will fall into place. You will have a peace of mind and a sense of direction that can be found no where else.
